Basically your second idea is the one I was going with while I was writing - Rose had been planning her trip over a month before this shared dream takes place, and while they were in that shared sort of state where those three minds were so intertwined, the TARDIS was able to get out of it that Rose was going to be at this specific place at this specific time of year, and if there's one thing she can do (and has done. Many times. XD) is take the flying out of her pilot's hands and drive it herself....That was what I meant to imply with it.
