Hehe, I'm a sucker for baby/kidfic as well (let's not get into some of my fics in other fandoms, lol...) so this fic really was pure guilty pleasure to write.

The reason I had Rose separated from her family here was because I wanted to play with the idea of Rose as a mother who would do absolutely anything to protect her child, and if that meant running away from whatever she knew in this world, then so be it. As for heading back to the other universe, well, stick around and find out. ;)
