Just re-read my first ever DW fic, which ended up being the prototype version for what eventually became Mysterious Ways...what a trip. I'm halfway tempted to post it to Teaspoon and FF.net just to see the reaction it gets.

And did I ever post my old DW/HP fanfic here? I can find it on other comms, but not my own LJ of all places. And the only reason I'm asking is that I'm getting ideas to write a sequel to it. I really should write something new though instead of thinking up ideas to either finish or sequel five year old fanfics (Quiet Move, anyone?).

*sigh* I really should get some sleep, lol...

I really need to get this on a posting schedule. Any preferences?

Title: Unintended (part 01 of 12)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] io_aenaria/Aenaria
Rating: PG, as of right now.
Fandoms: A Harry Potter/The X-Files crossover, set in a universe defined by Good Omens, Life on Mars, and Ashes to Ashes.
Summary: They were supposed to die. All they wanted was to be at peace finally after their short, but eventful lives. For Regulus Black and Samantha Mulder, things didn't quite work out as they had intended. The sequel to "The Consequences of Bloody Manchester".

Spoiler Alert: If you haven't made it through all three seasons of Ashes to Ashes (and want to without being spoiled) I'd wait until you're done to read this fic. While there are no outright spoilers, a major twist will be blown by a character that pops up in here...and really, the sheer nature of this story. So last chance not to be spoiled...

Chapter 1: Unintended Visitors )
aenariasbookshelf: (snow)
That's the closest I'm going to get to a snowbound icon right now - NJ (where my parents live and where I'm visiting for Christmas) has been buried under about two feet of snow and is still digging out. Snowbound=insanity, by the way.

Anyway, indulge my fangirl moment: was watching a rerun of Burn Notice (because that is what you do when you're snowbound...and there's no highlights from Glastonbury 2010 to watch on parents' shiny big screen tv today, alas) and saw that a character was putting a bug or something in a pack of Morley Cigarettes. If you know where those came from, you know why I'm still giggling.
aenariasbookshelf: (out of phase)
First and most importantly - monster MFA thesis is done! No more editing, making tiny little changes, and agonizing over the placement of a thesis. 114 pages of original fiction has been sent out as of a couple of days ago, and I'm done. I still have to present a lecture in January and do a reading of a selection from the thesis, but the big bits are over with. Then comes finding a job... *sigh* Yeah, not looking forward to that part.

Second - finally started posting cracked out crossover years in the works. Yay. If anyone out there remembers where I should send fics in the HP and XF worlds, let me know. It's been a long, long time since I've had to post anything there, and I don't even think Livejournal was really around when I was working with XF (damn, totally dating myself there...)

Third - Christmas time (and the loads of Christmas music I've been listening to) always end up inspiring me to work on the 'Salva Nos' universe in DW fic land. So, with any luck I'll have a coherent outline for "The Sleeping Gods" by the end of December, if not a few new parts written.

First question - would anyone be interested in reading some original fic of mine, namely, some of the stories from my thesis? These would only be available on LJ to people who have friended me for copywright and ownership's sake, but if there's an interest I can put them out there.

Second question - does anyone out there know how to take a playlist from iTunes to something non-iTunes related that can be shared with people? I have all of the songs that I used in order to write the Sonnetsverse reunion piece (and lyrics from many of these pieces head up the chapters) which I'd love to share, if only I could make iTunes bloody well behave...

Okay, that's all for now. Hope everyone out there is enjoying this lovely winter (or summer!) season! Ciao!

- Aenaria

Hey everybody...new/old fic for you. I'll post a status update in a little bit, but I've got to get this baby out to the world first. :)

Title: Unintended (part 00 of 12 - possibly. I may change around the numbering as I finish up editing. The story itself is complete, however)
Author: [livejournal.com profile] io_aenaria/Aenaria
Rating: PG, as of right now.

A/N: Finally, this monster is getting posted. I think I've been working on this story for near on five years now. I remember bringing some of the first few pages with me to Lumos 2006, so I know it's been a loooooong time. This is the sequel to Consequences of Bloody Manchester. It doesn't seem quite as cracked to me, but since most of the rules got tossed out the window as I was writing this, Crack!Fic this will be labeled.

I've got to give a lot of thanks to [livejournal.com profile] sopdetly for this one. She was the one who helped me bring this cracked crossover pairing to life all those years ago, and this story wouldn't have gotten off the ground without her. Thanks darling! :)

I've never watched the show Psych before, however I may have to start: according to the commercials I've been seeing of late tonight's episode is basically an unofficial Twin Peaks reunion. YES PLEASE! :) That has the potential to be oh so very, very awesome...
aenariasbookshelf: (we have normality)
It's not the article that's the important part, but rather the address of the house in the article. It's listed right there, two paragraphs in...so if you'll excuse me, I'll be over in the corner laughing my ass off. When I'm done with that, I'll be setting up patrols for low-flying owls...

aenariasbookshelf: (bentley)
Considering that the original was posted over five years back, parts 2 and 3 are only on ff.net, and I'm going to begin posting the sequel here very shortly, I feel justified in the repost. Some of the names should probably be changed, but to be fair this was written before JKR revealed what the real names of these characters are, so for right now, it's staying.

Title: The Consequences of Bloody Manchester, or Why Summoning Demons is a BAD Idea.
Author: [livejournal.com profile] io_aenaria
Rating: PG-13, for liberal use of the word fuck
Pairings: nothing romantic, but if you want to get really specific...Crowley/Mrs. Black. Yes, that Mrs. Black, the same one from the ugly painting in OotP. Brain bleach will be supplied if needed.
Warnings: Crackfic. Total and utter crackfic, inspired by a work of GO fanart that was so lovely (and somehow this came out of it. Can't really explain it). Oh, yes, HP/GO crossover as well. A hint of one more fandom pops up in part two, nothing spoilery, but it'll make a lot more sense once the sequel is out there.

Summary: 'Any wizard bright enough to survive for five minutes was also bright enough to realise that if there was any power in demonology, then it lay with the demons. Using it for your own purposes would be like trying to beat mice to death with a rattlesnake.'-Terry Pratchett, Eric. A certain not very demonic demon is asked to do the bidding of Mrs. Black.

1) Thesis finished, yay. Just waiting to get final approval from my reader.

2) Finishing work leads to crashing out totally over the last two weeks. Am now sick as a dog with the cold from hell - can't breathe properly, can't sleep properly, head feels like it's stuffed with cotton, and all I want to do is sit on the couch all day, drink tea, and watch X-Files. Yeah....

Gene Hunt, meet Fox Mulder.

*cackles madly, and rubs hands together a la mad scientist*

This can work. I know this can work. After all, Mulder did spend how many months mostly dead and buried in S8? And even by canon decree he spent a few of his younger years in England. Oh yes...

One of these days I should post the soul sucking part two of the crackfic, shouldn't I?

Title: Mysterious Ways, Epilogue, part 18 of 18
Author: Aenaria/[livejournal.com profile] io_aenaria
Character/Pairing: Ten/Rose, Gemma (an OC), with appearances by Jack, Martha, Donna, and a bunch of other OCs
Rating: M overall, PG for this chapter
Summary: "She's been lost, found the key, unlocked the door to the universe, wandered about, took a detour, stopped, stopped some more, then started again. Now, finally, Rose Tyler is on her way home." The Sonnetsverse reunion. Still totally AU from 'The Unicorn and the Wasp'.
Disclaimer: Alas, no. All I've got is a kitten named Fortuna, but she's not for sale.

a/n: This is it, the very last part of Mysterious Ways. Not the end of the Sonnetsverse, not by far, but the reunion fic is finally done, over two and a half years from when I first started this back at the beginning of 2008. My never ending thanks to [livejournal.com profile] earlgreytea68 for her always cracking beta job, and to [livejournal.com profile] mrs_roy for her support to get these parts finished. Further thanks to everyone over the years who's helped with beta-ing and idea bouncing, and just general support in the best ways possible. Finally, thank you to everyone who's read and left a note over the various parts - you have no idea how much it means to me to hear that people have been enjoying the story. So I hope you enjoy the final part of Mysterious Ways, and stay tuned for more to come.

a/n 2: If you want a better idea of how I envision the planet in the text below, watch this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eMqsWc8muj8&ob=av2e. It's actually the music video for the song quoted below, which inspired a lot of the imagery. That and the song is awesome, however I am a bit biased, lol...

Had the revelation earlier today (in the midst of post-thesis insanity; first draft is done!) that one of my favorite X-Files fanfics back in the day, and I'm talking nine, ten years ago here, was basically almost an early version of Life on Mars/Ashes to Ashes. Which is either really freaky or really cool. And dammit, now I want to reread that story, and I can't remember where the hell I found it...

Seriously?

Drove past this sign in my town today. Mind you, I live in one of the smallest towns in the smallest state in the U.S., so seeing something like this is the last thing I'd expect:

And procrastination on the first draft of the thesis leads to silliness, see my Rainbow Brite manicure for further proof:

Am alternately exhausted and massively caffeine buzzed, so anything incoherent in this post is totally my own fault. Anyway, I wanted to offer an apology to not responding to the latest posts for Mysterious Ways and the rest of my LJ and for not posting the MW epilogue - it shouldn't take me a month and a half to post a page and a half story closer. But I do apologize, chances are it won't be posted at least until the beginning of September - I've got until Sept. 6th to finish a rough draft of my master's thesis, and that has to take precedence. The thing doesn't have to be finished according to school requirements, especially if it's a novel length story, but the bloody stubborn writer in me wants to finish up putting that blasted fifteen page outline into complete form on paper. 89 pages later I'm only at pg 9 of the outline. *headdesk* Hence the caffeine and exhaustion to get this thing finished and in the mail by the 6th.

See what I mean about the inchoerence and babbling? Anyway, I'm still here, just gone slightly round the twist...whee. Feel free to leave something just as incomprehensible back. :)

Okay, back to writing...

Rating: M overall, PG for this chapter

a/n: Last full part of this story. It feels very strange to finally type that, considering that there was a point in time I thought I'd never finish this story. Rating: Back to PG now...
Summary: "She's been lost, found the key, unlocked the door to the universe, wandered about, took a detour, stopped, stopped some more, then started again. Now, finally, Rose Tyler is on her way home." The Sonnetsverse reunion. Still totally AU from 'The Unicorn and the Wasp'.

a/n: If you notice above, I've finally got a full parts count for this story. Meaning that it is finally, two and a half very long years later, finished. I've still got some tinkering to do with the epilogue, but it's all written. Whew. Two and a half years later, the last word of the last part of Mysterious Ways has finally been put down onto computer page. It's damn rough, and more than a bit rushed, but it's done.

*passes out from exhaustion*

This is always the way that things go for me, however - I have a hundred page thesis plus 45 minute lecture that I should be working on right now, but do I? No. Instead, I write fanfic. *facepalm* Maybe I should set myself a deadline for fanfic in order to get the thesis finished.

[livejournal.com profile] earlgreytea68, if you're seeing this, I'll be sending the three parts over your way shortly if you're still available for beta work. Like I said earlier they're still really rough, and there's a chapter break I'm not sure about, but we can discuss that more later.

Anyway, that's the latest update. Now? I need a drink...

Would anyone out there be willing to take on the task of beta-ing probably the most insane, cracked out piece I've ever written? It's a Harry Potter/X-Files/Good Omens (and one other fandom to be revealed later) crossover, and is the sequel to "The Consequences of Bloody Manchester", if anyone remembers that story.

[livejournal.com profile] sopdetly, you may remember this one, considering that I know a copy of what was written at the time came with us to Lumos 2006. And it was your fault for coming up with the idea of the crack!pairing in this one anyway. :)

Needless to say, this one has been in the works for a long, long time. It was the combination of another TV show coming into the mix and the massive 21 Jump Street binge I've been on for the last week that's gotten me about three scenes away from finished with this one. I'm determined to get this done before residency.

If anyone's interested, let me know - I appreciate all the help I can get with this one. :)

Thanks!
L.
